BDO Legal Eman Achmad & Co Law Firm in collaboration with The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, hosted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Wednesday 5th June 2024 to discuss the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 27 of 2022 on the Protection of Personal Data. The forum was held at the Royal Kuningan Hotel and featured several experts in the field of law and technology as speakers.
Eman Achmad, Managing Partner of BDO Legal Eman Achmad & Co, highlighted the detrimental impact of data leakage on businesses and emphasised the need for proactive measures to mitigate the various causes of data breaches. At the same time, Yudhi Prasetyo, Head of IT & Cybersecurity at BDO in Indonesia, explained the strategies that businesses can adopt to ensure data security, including the stages of data collection, storage and distribution. Through this initiative, it is expected that the government will make firmer decisions and establish regulations regarding the responsibility of companies for the data they manage.
