Health Compliance Regulations Electronic Medical Records
04 May 2023
The Health Ministry has issued a regulation to set the deadline for the implementation of the electronic medical record system in health services facilities nationwide to December 31, 2023.
Here are some effective and safe ways to implement Electronic Medical Record (EMR):
• Plan and prepare
Before implementing EMR, it is important to create a plan and prepare for the transition. This includes identifying the goals, selecting the right EMR system, and training staff on how to use the system.
• Ensure data security
EMR systems contain sensitive patient information, so it is crucial to ensure the system is secure. This includes implementing access controls, encrypting data, and regularly backing up data to prevent data loss.
• Involve staff in the implementation process
Staff involvement is important for successful EMR implementation. Involve staff in the selection of the system, provide adequate training, and encourage feedback to improve the system. Build your EMR team-force.
• Monitor and evaluate
Once the system is implemented, it is important to monitor and evaluate its effectiveness. This includes tracking system usage, identifying any issues, and making improvements as needed.
• Stay up-to-date
EMR systems are constantly evolving, so it is important to stay up-to-date with the latest software updates, security patches, and standards to ensure the system remains effective and safe.
BDO Indonesia is proudly to say we have the experiences and capabilities to assess and ensure that your health services facilities are in good terms to implement the EMR system.
